Ronnie James Dio Stand up and Shout Cancer Fund
Dr. Kapoor co-founded the Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, when his dear patient Ronnie James Dio passed away from stomach cancer.
Dr. Kapoor served as Ronnie’s primary physician through the singer’s arduous battle, and developed a special relationship with him and his wife. He stood by Ronnie and his family as they navigated the complexities of the American health care system and assisted them in making their difficult choices.
The primary mission of the foundation is to spread the important message of cancer prevention and early detection. The fund has raised over two million dollars in support of research for early detection technologies, in addition to an 11 million dollar Federal grant.
